Natural refrigerants are becoming more and more important as the reduction of conventional high-GWP refrigerants continues.
Menerga presents at ISH 2019 a product innovation that complements the portfolio of natural cooling technologies. The new electrically driven cooling technology Adconair AdiabaticDXcarbonfree is not affected by the strict requirements of the F-Gas regulation by using R718 (water) as refrigerant. This is made possible by a new compressor technology that generates a vacuum of 15 mbar in a closed system. In this way, the water evaporates at a temperature level just above 10 °C. In a first step the outside air is pre-cooled by the indirect adiabatic evaporative cooling system. Afterwards it is cooled down to 12 °C by a finned heat exchanger that uses the chilled water of the compressor cycle. This cooling technology results from a cooperation with Efficient Energy GmbH. The integration into the ventilation unit offers the customer an all-in-one solution, which makes external peripherals redundant, like e.g. re-coolers.
As with the thermally driven version of the Adconair AdiabaticDXcarbonfree, all the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive are eliminated with this technology.
This natural cooling process is a future-proof alternative to the classic refrigeration system with high GWP refrigerants and is expected to be available from summer 2019.
